Jennifer Still

Jennifer Still is a Winnipeg poet interested in multidisciplinary texts and poetic tactility.

Her second collection, Girlwood (Brick Books), was a finalist for the 2012 Aqua Books Lansdowne Prize for Poetry and first-prize winner of the John V. Hicks Manuscript Award. Saltations (Thistledown Press, 2005) was nominated for three Saskatchewan Book Awards. In 2008 Jennifer received a Saskatchewan Emerging Artist Award and in 2012 Jennifer was awarded the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer.

Winner of the 2013 Prairie Fire/Banff Centre Bliss Carman Poetry Award, Jennifer has been widely published throughout Canada, most recently anthologized in TAG: Canadian Poets at Play (forthcoming 2016) and The Best Canadian Poetry 2013.

Jennifer has served as faculty for The Banff Centre of the Arts Wired Writing Studio (2013), is co-founder of the limited-edition chapbook publisher JackPine Press and is a poetry editor for the literary journal CV2. She recently served as the 2015 University of Winnipeg Carol Shields Writer-in-Residence. She edits, mentors and makes poems in her hometown of Winnipeg.

Straw Star, her third collection, will appear with BookThug Books in spring 2017.
